| A New Start - your own business! |
Ever dreamt of being your own boss? Starting a new business is easier than you think. Within Northern Ireland small businesses account for the majority of all businesses and their importance as the lifeblood of the local economy cannot be underestimated, in terms of economic re-generation and wealth creation. In recognition of the key role small business plays, the government and other support organizations are actively encouraging self-employment as a viable career alternative.
In order to raise the awareness levels for people wishing to become self employed and start their own business, Ballymena Business Centre has recently launched the 'New Start' business programme, whereby experienced business advisors are available to provide information, advice and mentoring to anyone considering the option of self-employment.
The New Start programme is open to everybody within the Ballymena Borough Council area, regardless or age, gender or status. It is run as a series of enterprise weeks, one week per month in different locations, where individuals can 'drop in' and speak to an advisor in confidence about any aspect of business. If they wish they can then go on to participate in a workshop session at the end of the enterprise week designed to develop their business idea further.
Enterprise weeks will take place in the following locations within the Ballymena Borough Council area (Ballykeel, Glenravel, Ballee, Portglenone, Fairgreen, Slemish, Moat, Dunclug and Kells). The details of each location will be advertised in advance in the local newspapers.
For further information contact Stephen Scullion at the Ballymena Business Centre on 028 256 58616.
