| Start A Business Programme |
 The Start A Business Programme delivered by Ballymena Business Centre within the Ballymena Council area and is fully funded by Invest NI, Local Council and European Union Fund. The programme is therefore free to all eligible participants and has been designed to help everyone with a business idea to explore their idea and business issues and provide a foundation to start their own business.
The Start A Business Programme is open to anyone who is thinking of starting a new business provided:
- You are prepared to take an active role in the business (amount of time will be dependent on whether the business is full time or part time); and
- The proposed business is new and not illegal or immoral.
The program delivery has 3 key stages for each participant. Initially an advisory session is available to help you review your idea and plan the best path to progress.
A training programme is provided to cover business issues such as Marketing, business operations, financial planning, costing. The training course is delivered both daytime and evening and provides an excellent opportunity to develop your skills and meet other entrepreneurs in the local area.
On completion of your training you will be allocated one-to-one confidential advisory sessions to assist you with the preparation of your business plan. These sessions can be used to get guidance on your research and deal with any outstanding issues to prepare for the launch of your business.
Your completed business plan will then be submitted as application to the Start up Grant which can be used to assist with the set up of your business.
Follow up support is also available with access to services of an advisor for the first twelve months of trading.
Additionally all participants can avail of a service to develop a 3 page website free of charge or the option of a one page website with a professionally designed logo.
