Enterprise is VITAL

World of Work Partner Ballymena Business Centre in assocation with lead partner the Northern Regional College, Northern Ireland and European partner organisations from Spain, Portugal and Finland successfully delivered enterprise opportunities to over 360 students. Through VITAL - Vision, Innovation, Teamwork, Achievement and Leadership, partners explored creative and innovative teaching practices relating to entrepreneurship education.

The Junior Apprentice

The Junior Apprentice puts Ballymena pupils on a learning curve in Business.  This annual competition is delivered in partnership with Ballymena Business Centre, Michelin Development and Young Enterprise.

Ballymena Business Centre Sponsors Annual Technology Tournament

Ballymena Business Centre alongside the local business and banking sector sponsors the annual Ballymena Rotary Club Technology Tournament.  Nine schools took part in the Technology Tournament hosted by Northern Regional College and Ballymena Rotary Club at the College's Farm Lodge Campus, which saw them go head to head to design, build and launch a space capsule.  The 2019 annual tournament was the largest yet, with 80 students putting forward 19 teams to compete for top prize of £200.  Their solutions were tested and judged against each other, with the judges selecting the overall winning team and the runners-up, who received a prize of £100.
2019 saw a team from Cullybackey College scooped top prize, displaying a keen aptitude for creative problem solving and practical solutions.  The runners-up from Dunclug College, also showing their knowledge of Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths [STEM subjects] in their application.
