Melanie Christie-Boyle MBE, Chief Executive and Catriona O’Hara, Tourism Ambassador from Ballymena Business Centre were delighted to attend the recent Tourism Conference at Titanic Quarter, Belfast, where they had the opportunity with Mid and East Antrim Borough Council to meet Laura McCorry MBE, Chief Executive of Tourism NI.

The conference brought together tourism leaders, businesses, and community organisations from across Northern Ireland to discuss emerging trends, visitor experiences, and opportunities for sustainable tourism growth. The event provided valuable insights into how destinations work collaboratively to attract more visitors and enhance the overall tourism offering.

For Ballymena Business Centre, the knowledge gained and connections made at the conference will directly support the Tourism Information Hub at Midtown Makers Gift Shop developed in collaboration with Mid and East Antrim Borough Council.  The hub serves as an important gateway for visitors seeking information on local attractions, heritage sites, accommodation, events, and experiences throughout Ballymena and the wider Mid and East Antrim area.

Meeting Laura McCorry reinforced the importance of partnership working and highlighted the opportunities available to promote Ballymena as a vibrant destination for culture, heritage, outdoor adventure, and connecting local enterprise.

As the hub continues to grow, connections are developed and footfall increases, Ballymena Business Centre remains committed to supporting local tourism, showcasing the area's unique attractions, and ensuring that visitors receive a warm welcome and the information they need to discover everything our region has to offer.
